League Qtr. Final Match this Thursday V Grenagh in Grenagh at 7.30pm

Junior’s continue their winning ways

Our junior camogie team opened their summer league campaign on Wednesday evening last against St- Vincent’s in what can be said to be tough conditions. With thunder and lightning in the distance it was doubtful if the game was going to go ahead and to be honest a lot of the girls would have hoped it wouldn’t! Our girls started the brighter and continued on in this vain throughout the match. We opened the scoring with a well taken goal from Aisling Hartnett and followed soon after with a point from Marie Therese Murphy. Melissa O Sullivan tapped over a few points from frees and picked up some points from play. Megan McNulty placed three over the bar. We finished out the first half as we started with another goal from Aisling and point from Marie Therese to go 2-08 to 0-02 at the interval. The second half started as the first and we continued our scoring ways. St-Vincent’s battled hard for every ball but we were much too strong and we dominated in all areas of the pitch. The heavy downpour in the second half made playing conditions difficulty. We ran out convincing winners on a score line of 3-14 to 0-04. Training continues for juniors and Minors every Monday, Wednesday and Friday’s evening at 7pm. As we now have come to the end of exam time we look forward to see our girls return to the playing field. Next game is at home to Cobh with day and time tbc.

Team V St. Vincents: Nicole Barry, Shannon O Sullivan, Áine O Brien, Rachel Murphy, Michelle Hartnett, Niamh Barry (0-01), Louise McGann, Anna Greaney, Aibhin O Sullivan, Megan McNulty (1-04), Marie Therese Murphy (0-02), Melissa O Sullivan (0-05), Theresa O Connor (0-01), Aisling Hartnett (2-00) and Emily Sexton. Congratulations

Congratulations to Grainne McCarthy who won the Cork U16 Puc Fada today in a playoff against Mairead O'Sullivan of Banteer in Eire Og. This makes Grainne the U16 Cork champion and she will now represent Cork at provincial level. This is a great achievement and everyone in the club is delighted for her and her family.

Congratulations also to Nicole Barry who came 3rd in County Cork in the Adult Puc fada competition. Well done Nicole from everyone in the club.

Clothes Collection

So it's that time of year to do a clear out, get out those black bags and air out those closets. We will be holding our clothes collection over the following dates, Monday July 4th to Friday July 8th, week of Cúl Camp. The clothes collection is a painless way to raise much needed funds and as we had a tremendous response to our collection last year, where we were able to purchase a new set of jerseys for our U 10’s, we hope people will rally to the cause again this year.

Kellogg's GAA Cúl Camps - The Official GAA Summer Camps

Cul Camp will take place from 4th – 8th July this can be booked on line @ https://www.kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie or contact Dave Hegarty @ 086 8400055

Lotto

The Club would also like to invite all members where possible to join the Club’s Lotto. The lotto is a major financial contributor to the club and is a much needed source of income. Tickets are available from committee members or many local business… If you’re not in you can’t win.
