Castlelyons Camogie Club Notes: 05.07.2016.

 U8 Camogie

No training this week due to Cul Camp.

U14s Advance to County League Semi- Final.

On Sunday 3rd July we travelled to Brian Dillions for our quarter final match. In front of a large Castlelyons support we were first to score a goal. Brian Dillions soon began to settle into the game. Playing with the wind they soon found their momentum and replied with a goal from a long distance free and followed soon after by a pointed 45. The game came alive with both teams pressing hard for scores. Castlelyons scored two points from play after being unlucky for one or two goals, eventually the goal came and at half time Castlelyons lead 2-02 to 2-01.

After some refreshments and words of wisdom the second half started with Castlelyons playing with wind advantage. We gradually began to become the more dominant team with our backs getting to grips with their immediate opponents and supplying quality balls into our forwards which they duly converted to scores. Credit to Brian Dillions they continued to put pressure on our backs who as always defended as their lives depended on it. Our midfield began to dominate the area and our forwards looked ever threatening. We managed to score a further three goals and a point to run out winners on a score of 5-03 to 2-01. This was a magnificent panel performance with everybody playing to their full potential and the support play was magnificent.

Our next opponents will be Kilbree in the semi-final, this match is on Monday 11th July location to be confirmed. Over recent times we have played Kilbree, we drew in this year’s Feile match, and last year the U12’s were beaten in the semi-final, we now have the opportunity to balance the score. Hopefully we can have a large support for this home fixture and cheer the girls on.

Clothes Collection

Our clothes collection will take place over the week of Cúl Camp 4th-8th July. Your unwanted clothes placed in black bags can be left into the youth café during Cúl camp times. The clothes collection is a painless way to raise much needed funds and as we had a tremendous response to our collection last year we hope people will rally to the cause again this year.

Lotto

The Club would also like to invite all members where possible to join the Club’s Lotto. The lotto is a major financial contributor to the club and is a much needed source of income. Tickets are available from committee members or many local business… If you’re not in you can’t win.

Sponsor

We would like to sincerely thank our Sponsors Fermoy Credit Union (U16) and Bryan O ‘Flynn Heating and Plumbing Dungourney (Minor).
