Castlelyons Juvenile GAA Club Notes: 13.12.2015.
As the year is coming to a close, the Juvenile club still have a limited stock of helmets for sale, sizes currently available are 24â, 26â and 28â. Please contact Donal O Callaghan for more information on 086 1743102.
Donal had a great year this year training the U6, U7 & U8 teams. He had his hands full but what a year and some great accomplishments. In January, just over 30 children started out training with Donal, and by the time he finished up in October he had 43 young lads attending every week. They trained twice weekly for most of the year, both Football and Hurling. They participated in the Go Games Blitzes in Carrigtwohill, Fermoy, Killeagh, Ballinacurra and Bride Rovers to name a few! They also enjoyed a great day at the Castlelyons Family Fun day and the Damien Ahern Blitz which was held in October.
The season finished for the group with a fantastic morning training and Anthony Spillane was on hand to present each of the boys with their end of year medal and goodie bag. Great credit is due to Donal and his team of trainers, Shane O Neill, John Barry, Dave Reals, Colm Buckley, Richard Morrison, John Maguire, Bernard Corrigan, Ger Burke, Brendan Hallihan, and Paul O Brien.
Donal would also like to thank everyone who helped him throughout the year, in particular Clodagh Barry who referred at all the blitzes. And finally, a work of special thanks to all the parents for their constant and continued support.

A special word of praise for Jack Kenny and James Kearney, who represented the Cork U14 Hurling team at the Tony Forrestal and Sonny Walsh competitions in Waterford on August 29th. The respect, commitment and enthusiasm shown by these boys throughout the year was a fantastic reflection on the support they receive from their parents and club mentors. Well Done Jack and James, you did the club proud.
PUC FADA.
This year the PUC FADA will take place on St Stephenâs Day, with a kick off time of 11am at the Community Centre. The course will run the same route as last year and we are looking forward to a great days hurling, from young to old. This year, a Long Puc will also take place following the PUC FADA. Any person participating in the PUC FADA will receive a Long PUC voucher which will entitle them to one Long PUC. Extra vouchers available on the day, should you need them!!!! Refreshments will be served in the bar prior and during the Long PUC event. Again, staying in line with previous years, there is a cost of â¬20 per team of 4, with all proceeds being donated this year to the Castlelyons Parish Dinner, which will be held in January. We look forward to seeing you all there on the day â a great way to work off that Christmas dinner!
