€500 Winner in Cork GAA Clubs Draw

Congrats to Mrs Nora Ryan, Knock, Fermoy winner of €500 in the December Cork GAA Clubs Draw.  Dave Hegarty sold the winning ticket and as there are still many months left sure Nora could land the big prize yet.  Thanks for your support Nora.

Last Man Standing Draw

The winner of the recent Last Man Standing Draw was Pat Collins Castlelyons and the prize was presented to him on Monday Night.

A special thanks to the initiative shown by Anto and Mike Spillane, Robbie Feeney, Alan O Regan and many other players who drove the Draw which is specific to fund a Gym.  This is an exciting proposal and hopefully will come to fruition as most if not all local clubs have long developed suitable strength and conditioning units for their players.

A Bridge too far for Cork

Colm Spillane had a fine game for CorkSixmilebridge, Co. Clare was the venue for Cork Senior Hurling Team’s first game of 2016 in the Waterford Crystal League versus Clare.  Both teams had reshuffled the Management set up for the New Year as Cloyne men Diarmuid ‘the Rock’ O Sullivan and Donal Óg Cusack were on opposite sides this time and it really add a bit of excitement. Clare took the spoils but only just and that was by the only goal of the game 1-13 to 0-13.

Cork lined out with a lot of new players on the day and our own Colm Spillane back again this year had a fine game in the full back line.

Scór Sinsir - 2016

This year 2016 we have a once in a century opportunity to take part in many cultural celebrations and the GAA will be taking part in Clár Comórtha Céad Bliain.

Cumann Luthchleas Gael has come a long way and is now at the heart of all parishes and many places worldwide and we actively support Gaeilge, Irish Music, Song and Dance.

We are hoping to make Scór a bit special for 2016 and the Uí Mac Coille Scór Sinsir Finals will be held on Sunday 31st January at Lisgoold.  We have a Ballad Group in training and would appreciate a solo singer, dancer and recitation to represent us.  So please contact any club member if you would like to take part.
