Juvenile Notes WE 1.2.16 2016-02-02 22:05:00

Harty Heartbreak.

Well we couldn’t publish our report this week without including how disappointed we were on Saturday for the Colman boys who had played in the Harty Cup Semi Final. On what was one of the poorest days of late, bitter cold and even a snow shower didn’t dampen the spirits of the team. After almost 80 minutes of a bitter fought battle, Ardscoil Ris managed to put one over in the last minutes of the game and ended up the winners on the day. The Colmans team played a ferocious game, and certainly deserved their place in the final but it was not to be! They played with fantastic spirit throughout and gave 110% - what more could the army of supporters have asked for! We are especially proud of the Castlelyons boys on the panel, Niall O Leary, Barry Murphy, Jamie O Leary, Keith O Leary and John Paul Murphy. The team did everyone proud, they may have missed their place in the final this year, but there’s no doubt, they can only go onwards and upwards.

New Registrations;

Registration forms are available from all the managers at the next couple of training sessions and we would encourage everyone to fill out the forms as soon as possible. Please remember to return the Code of Conduct forms, signed to managers at your next training session.

U18 – Minor Panel.

This year the minor panel falls under the Juvenile section of the club. With a management team of Shane Hickey, Jimmy O Leary, Bryan Carroll and Anthony Spillane, this team have some great expertise on hand and no doubt will aspire to great things.

Having won the U18 Rebel Og East Region Minor Hurling Championship in 2015, the boys gained great experience and skill throughout the previous campaigns and are raring to go. They started back training in early January, with some new players joining the team. This team are definitely one to watch and we wish them every success in the months to come.
