Preview Castlelyons v Clonakilty in the County U21A Hurling Semi 2017-10-14 11:42:00

Preview Castlelyons v Clonakilty in the County U21A Hurling Semi Final on Sunday.

Please folks note that this game is now switched to Ovens, home of Eire Óg out beyond Ballincollig at 12 md on this Sunday 15.10.17 for the showdown County Under 21 A Hurling Quarter Final versus Clonakilty. This West Cork outfit, a bastion of football, are also creating waves in Cork hurling in recent times as they have a very strong under age structure and are competitive at Junior team level. They have a massive complex of new pitches, artificial pitches, Gymnasium, Hall and Bar a little outside the town.

We must respect their U21 team as Mark White, goalie, Sean Donoghue, half back, David Lowney, Cork and midfield player and Cian O Donovan are all outstanding players and they had a good win over Kilmeen in the Carbery final. However, we equally had an outstanding win over Bride Rovers in a very good East Cork final and if we reach that form we should have enough in the tank to advance. We did play Cahir in a recent challenge and hurled well although a little short in numbers.

Best of luck to our players and management outfit and let’s get behind this team in their quest for a county title. Castlelyons Abú
