Senior hurling Final Preview 2017-10-21 20:22:00

Best of Luck to Imokilly tomorrow in County Final

Well Tomorrow is the big day as Uí Mac Coille face up to the Rockies in the County final in Páirc Uí Chaoimh next Sunday the 22nd inst. Please come early as there is a huge crowd expected. We look forward to a memorable day with the replay of the football finals between Nemo Rangers and St Finbarrs at 1 pm. Then the official opening with Aogán Ó Fearghail, Uachtarán CLCG and evening some cracking traditional music and dance by that great box player Liam O Connor.

The throw in for the hurling final is timed for 4 pm and all plans are in place and goodies presented. So tomorrow it is inside the white lines that counts and what a battle in prospect. We have a reasonable chance on the day as we have a very good team. History records Imokilly as having two county senior titles while the Rockies, the record holders, have thirty-two of them and they did not pick them off the ground so we must respect them and only an honest and supreme effort will swing the day for Imokilly.

Best of luck to our own lads Colm Barry, Niall O Leary, Tom Carroll and Aidan O Sullivan. Great to see them following in the steps of some great Castlelyons hurlers in the past who graced the Candy Stripes with distinction. The Uí Mac Coille Manager, Fergal Condon has worked extremely hard over the last three years in putting together this outfit and his selectors Sean Harnedy, Derek Barret and Jimmy Smiddy are great hurling men with Derek and Jimmy having two county senior medal apiece. All Castlelyons Gaels wish the entire Uí Mac Coille panel and team management the very best in the hope that the Sean Óg Murphy cup will return to the barony for 2017
