Castlelyons Weekly Lotto Draw 17th October, 2016.

The next draw will be held on Monday 24th October, 2016, at 9.30 pm, once again in the Abbey Tavern.  The Jackpot is now €5, 400.

What a treat for Halloween and the trick is just play for â‚¬2 Online or purchase a ticket from any of the usual outlets and you could be the winner of a devilish delight of €5, 400.  Go on enjoy. We appreciate your support.

Tickets for the Cork GAA Clubs Draw are now on sale.

The last meeting whipped up somewhat better attendance and I suppose a few phone calls won’t go astray as the support is reasonable again for this Draw which always brings in a good few bob for our Club and we are very lucky with winners so don’t forget your ticket. Since its inception in 1992 communities have benefitted by more than €19 million in funding their local club developments.  The Draw has three aims: -

  • Investment in games development and coaching.
  • Risk free funding for clubs.
  • Capital projects support.

Accordingly, a special meeting will be held on next Tuesday night at 8.30 pm in the Community Centre to discuss ticket sales.

East Cork Scór na nÓg Finals, Saturday 26th November, 2016, 7.30 pm, at Lisgoold Hall

The promotion of Scór at adult and juvenile levels has helped to play an important role on the revival of our culture and heritage. Both juveniles and adults in towns and villages throughout the East Cork Division have been afforded the opportunity to interact in the best of Irish culture in this special centenary year, 2016.

It is imperative that we continue to promote Scór as it adds to the overall value of the Club unit. The key attraction of Scór is that it brings people into club who are not necessarily interested in the sporting side of CLCG.  Scór provides potential to bring the Club to all the community thus increasing membership, support and greater community interest in the Club. This year the Scór na nÓg Finals (after National Schools and up to 17 years) will be held at Lisgoold Hall on Saturday night the 26th November, 2016, at 7.30 pm.  Closing Date for Entry is Wednesday 16th November, 2016.  I have no doubt in this historic year Castlelyons will take a serious interest.

Best wishes to Fermoy in Premier County Intermediate Football Final.

We wish Fermoy the very best as they contest the Premier Intermediate County Football Final on this Sunday in Páirc Uí Rinn as they take on Kiskeam.  Fermoy have had an outstanding season in hurling and football to date and are a club with a strong tradition in football with six county Senior titles, two Premier Intermediate and five Junior titles already.  In fact, they contested the county senior final of 1916 but were defeated by Collegians.  Kiskeam have a proud tradition too and it all adds up to a great final.
