We would like to sincerely thank our most generous sponsors, without whom, this raffle would be impossible.

Lotto;

We have a Lotto Jackpot of €10,200 this week. The Club would like to invite all members where possible to join the Club’s Lotto. The lotto is a major financial contributor to the club and is a much needed source of income. Annual lotto tickets can be purchased from any of the clubs executive members while weekly tickets can be obtained from the many Lotto ticket sellers/businesses in the parish.

€2 tickets can be purchased in Murphy’s Vehicle Repairs, Sharon’s Hair Design, Community Centre Bar, Fitzgerald Butchers Fermoy, Mc Donnell’s Coolagown, Castlelyons Post Office, GlanBia Castlelyons, The Abbey Tavern and from the usual ticket sellers and promoters.

Club Recycling Imitative;

The Juvenile club are currently taking in old helmets and hurley’s, and re-using them in the local schools for training purposes. This is a great initiative and helps players get a taste for the game, without having a large outlay from the start. If you have any old hurley’s or helmets that you no longer use at home, why not bring them along to training and managers will take them from there. We would encourage all families to support this new initiative.

U10;

Last Saturday on a perfect day for hurling in Fr Ferris field, the U10 boys played the second round of the Rebel Og Hurling League V Crosshaven. With Crosshaven bringing a large panel we were able to split the boys up into two games. Both games turned out to be very competitive with two very evenly matched sides and overall we just shaded it in the end. The boys showed great improvement from their previous outings. In one of the games our standout players were Cathal Sheehan who took some lovely scores and Peter Verling who left nothing past him in the back line. There were also great performances from Sean O'Callaghan, Richard Barry, Lee Ryan, Torin O'Brien, and Adam Lardner. In the other game Kevin Barry impressed with Jack Burke also showing some great touches. The skill level on show is getting better with every outing and the rest of the panel who did so well were Ewan Long, Rory Condon, Dylan Leetch, Tom O'Neill, Sean Og Maguire and Shane Hussey. The boys are showing a great attitude this year and are training really well.

There is a break from the league this weekend but training will continue on Wednesday @ 7- 8pm and Saturday @ 10-11am. Our next League game is a Football game away to Bride Rovers on Saturday 22nd April.

U16;

On Saturday evening last, our u16 hurlers travelled to Tracton for our first League encounter of the season. This year sees our team going up a grade to B1, so the pressure is on the lads and managers. Missing a few players, we didn’t make as great an impact in the opening quarter as we should have. We clocked up 1-04 to Tracton’s 3-03 as the half-time whistle blew.

The Second half was a different story and the game ebbed and flowed with both teams dominating for periods. The Castlelyons boys made for some excellent goal opportunities and continued to challenge Tracton at every chance. The game ended on a score line of 4-21 to 4-06 in favour of the home side.

The team did well with their first encounter and gave 100% throughout, a great testament to the lads.

Our team on the day; Gavin O Neill, Leon Doocey, Dara Spillane, Steven Casey, Michael Griffin, Jack Kenny, Declan Morrison, Evan Lenehan, Shane Cotter, Richard Morrison, Peter Greaney, Ian Ryan, Ian O Sullivan, Oscar Hallihan and Colm Mc Carthy.

Our next match is at home to Carrig na Bhfear on Monday next at 7pm. Thanks to all our supporters on the day and we hope to see you all again this Monday.
