Castlelyons Camogie Team all set for County Final. 2020-09-24 19:18:00

Castlelyons play Inniscarra at Castle Road on Saturday 26th September at 2pm in the County Junior B Final. Castlelyons had a convincing win over Bride Rovers last Saturday after a few anxious moments in the second half. This is the girls second year in their short history in a county final as they were beaten by Ballinora last year. It is some complement to our trainers and the club in general that eight of the starting fifteen the last day were minors and seven of them are underage again for 2021. As we can see the camogie are now fielding teams at all ages and it is paying dividends.

Their opponents Inniscarra defeated Cobh in the other semi-final and have a strong traditional camogie club as their club was founded back in 1967. They are in the county senior final against Courcey Rovers on this Sunday also as they defeated St Finbarrs in a cracker last Saturday. Our girls will be playing the Inniscarra second team who have a number of good players and they will be anxious to do the double of junior and senior and have a lot of players. However, if we stay with them early, we our girls are good too and we will be in with a right shout. All guns blazing for this final and we wish the team and management the very best. This will be an all ticket affair and they will be scarce due to Covid which is on the increase again and there is even concern about Cork this evening so tabhair aire.  The game will be streamed live so you can still enjoy it. Go n-eirí an t-ádh libh. Castlelyons Abú.
