Juvenile Notes week ended 8.6.14

Family Fun Day Sunday 15th June 2014

Castlelyons Juvenile GAA Club Officers have been putting in some hard graft over the past weeks as they finalize plans for the upcoming event of the year: Our annual Family Fun Day will be held on this Sunday 15th June starting at 10am. The highlight of the day is all of our local GAA clubs turning up and partaking in U6/U8/U10 hurling and Camogie Blitz's. We will have teams from Bride Rovers, Fermoy, St Catherines, Kilara Óg, Youghal, St Fanahan's, Watergrasshill & Castlelyons. This Blitz’s will start at 10:30am and run until 2pm approx.

A special kids train will run all day long - this has proven very popular in recent years with the kids getting a great kick out of it. We will also have "Daisy the Cow" where everyone can have a go at this competition. On the day we will have our tea/coffee/baking tent, hot food and sweets and treats. A Monster Raffle will be held as a fundraiser for the club with many prizes as sponsored by: - Murphy Vehicle Repairs, Cheers Bar, Fermoy Print, Cummins Sports, Vodafone and many others. There will also be free Face & Nail painting. So start training now and be Fully Fun Day Fit for what promises to be another great occasion on Sunday June the 15th. Parking will be in Leahy’s Field weather permitting - Stewards will be on hand to assist.

U 11 Hurling

Last Thursday in Castlelyons as part of our league we played St Colmans U11 hurlers.  This was a good run out for our lads and a great chance for some who don't get to play at U12 level.  It proved to be a good tough game with our lads getting the better of the first half and while we were under a lot of pressure in the second half we still had enough to win in the end.

Panel: - Peter Greaney, Colm McCarthy, David Jones, Luke McCarthy, James Cullinane, Michael O Sullivan, Alex Murphy, Ian Ryan, Dara Spillane, Oscar Hallihan, Evan Lenehan, Michael Griffin, Ian O Sullivan and Cees Kowenburg.

Next up for the lads will be U12 football in Rathcormac this Saturday.
