Medal Presentation â Party Night
Last Friday Castlelyons Juvenile GAA Club held a very enjoyable victory presentation Night in the Community Bar.
A large attendance of both players and parents attended this event which was held to honour our two Eastern Leagues winners of 2014
The night got underway with our new Juvenile Chairman John Lenihan giving an opening address and commending both teams on their great achievements. Both league final were great games of hurling. In fact in both games we clawed back a deficit and fought hard for eventual victory.
John thanked the team officials, parents and of course the players for contributing to a memorable season. John also thanked our club sponsor Riordan's SuperValu, Fermoy for their longstanding sponsorship of our Club.
Colm Barry, Colm and Anthony Spillane were guests of honour for the presentation ceremony. Unfortunately Colm Barry was playing for Mary I College and consequently could not attend on Friday.
These lads were on the Cork U21 hurling team in the Munster Final and beaten by that great Clare side that won the All Ireland 2014. However, the made it to the All Ireland Intermediate Final where Cork defeated Wexford and the lads again played a major role and claimed three All Ireland Medals.
Castleyons Juvenile Club are very proud of Colm Barry, Colm an Anto Spillane as their success is a great source of inspiration for current juvenile players and it was great to see the lads presenting the medals last Friday to the U14 and U15 Panels.
Team Manager Neil Spillane introduced the U15 Panel and Team Manager James O Neill introduced the U14 Panel as the players received their medals from Colm and Anto.
As well as receiving their hard earned medals the players also enjoyed food and drinks courtesy of Riordan's SuperValu Fermoy and overall had a very enjoyable night.

The Scór na nÃg Table Quiz will be held at Ovens on Friday, 16th January, 2015 and no doubt Castlelyons will field a team.
