Castlelyons play Ballinacurra in East Cork Junior B Hurling Championship

We play Ballinacurra in the East Cork Junior B Hurling Championship tonight in Killeagh at 7.15 and Arthur Murphy is the whistler. Eoin Barry, Alan O Regan, Michael John Dorgan, Liam O Leary, Ronan O Regan and Declan Sexton were all on the bench and fit for last Sundays PIHC versus Ballinhassig but not called upon and are available and raring to go tonight.  Timmy McCarthy is having a good year and enjoying his hurling.  Brian O Donovan, Brian “Dunny” O Donovan, David Beausang, Noel McAuliffe and Mark Murphy are others who have played at a high level.  The team is not known to date but it must be a fairly strong outfit are there are so many good hurlers available.

In our four Division 2 league games we scored a massive 10-43 as Timmy McCarthy was generally on fire in many of them.  However, we won just one of the four games as we leaked a lot of scores at the back.  Our opponents Ballinacurra are heading up Division 3 with 12 points from six wins’ and even though in a lesser Division are a very formidable outfit. 

However, if we line out well and tighten up at the back we must be in with a great chance of victory.  Best of luck to Manager James Maye, his selectors Colm Spillane and Aidan O Sullivan and all the lads this evening.  Castlelyons Abú.
