Courcey Rovers U12 Hurling Blitz – Johnny Murray Shield Competition.

Last Sunday, our U12 Hurlers travelled to Courcey Rovers for their annual U12 End of Season Hurling Blitz.

We played three games on the day with teams from Tracton, Kinsale and Courcey Rovers. We came out on top in all three and collected the trophy.

This was a great way for the lads to finish the season, a well-deserved reward for their constant hard work and dedication throughout the year.

Thanks to all who travelled on Sunday especially the parents for their constant continued support.

Juvenile AGM.

Last Saturday night saw our annual AGM take place in the Community Centre Bar. There was a great turn out on the night, as in previous years. The club is growing from strength to strength and the numbers attending meetings is a very positive sign of everyone’s enthusiasm.

Our Committee for 2015 stepped down on the night, but have had a lasting impact on the club years to come. We would like to sincerely thank John Lenehan (Chairperson), Pat O Sullivan (secretary) and Denis Buckley (Treasurer) for all their hard work and commitment throughout the past twelve months and we look forward to their continued support through the coming years.

Notably, on the night both John Healy and Donal O Leary thanked the outgoing committee for their contribution to maintaining the pitch and also for the Digital Scoreboard, which was installed in the past couple of months. This will be of great use to all the teams going forward and a much welcome addition to Castlelyons GAA Club.

During the meeting the following officers were elected for the 2015/2016 season: -

• Denis Buckley Chairperson.
• Lorna Murphy Secretary.
• Mary Fenton Treasurer.

We wish Denis, Lorna and Mary the best of luck during their term and look forward to working with them.
