Cúl Camps 2014 - Great Success 2014-07-03 22:22:00

Grace Shimmon and Cork Hurling All Star Seamus HarnedyA visit to the Castlelyons Kellogg's GAA Cúl Camps today (3.7.14) showed our future looks very good indeed with over 150 children attending the Camp.  What a great way for children aged 6 - 13 to play the games and learn GAA skills in a fun child-friendly environment. Thanks to the children themselves and all the parents who took time out to bring them.

We have excellent coaches in the person of our own young star club players such as to the O Regans, Moroneys, Spillanes and Carrolls, Beausangs, Fentons, O Learys, to mention but a few and of course many of the Camogie girls too.

Noel Crowley Coordinator for the County visited today and checked in with Dave and Orla who ensured him that all was well.

However, when Cork Hurling all Star Seamus Harnedy call at 11am he was an instant hit with all the children.  Seamus has a pleasant, caring manner and really took time to talk to all.  What a representative for Cork Hurling – this guy is special – well done and thanks Seamus.

Finally Castlelyons GAA owes a mile buíochas to Dave Hegarty and Orla Hallihan who organise and manage the Cúl Camp.  They do such a lot of work and commitment but they take it in their stride and the few surprises along the way keep it all enjoyable.
